Deutsch: Café Kathmandu – ein Projekt des Abendgymnasiums am Staatlichen Koblenz-Kolleg

Wir treffen während der zwei bzw. drei Abende die nötigen Vorbereitungen, um am Präsentationstag (Donnerstag, 24.7.14) für das leibliche Wohl der Studierenden, Gäste, Lehrerinnen und Lehrer zu sorgen.

Gleichzeitig wollen wir über die Arbeit informieren, die frühere Projekte am Koblenz-Kolleg in Zusammenarbeit mit zwei Schulen in Nepal geleistet haben. So hat z.B. unsere Weihnachtstombola dieses Jahr, die auch zugunsten unserer beiden Kontaktschulen ging, 375,00 Euro erbracht. Damit konnte in der Bhanodaya Schule wichtiges Unterrichtsmaterial angeschafft werden. In der Jaleshwary Secondary School haben wir Familien geholfen, die Schwierigkeiten hatten, für ihre Kinder Schuluniformen usw. zu bezahlen.

Die Profite, die unser Café hoffentlich machen wird, gehen dann auch zur weiteren Unterstützung der Schüler der Jaleshwary Secondary School bzw. der Bhanodaya Primary School.

Aktivitäten während des Projektes:

• Planung, wie genau das Café gestaltet werden soll
• Vorbereitung der Information über die Schulen und die allgemeine Situation in Nepal (Ausstellung, Präsentation (?) …)
• Nachdenken über und Organisation von evtl. weiteren Einnahmequellen (Spiele, Verkäufe ?? usw.)
• Kontaktaufnahme mit den verantwortlichen Projektmitarbeitern in Nepal
• Ach ja: Kaffee und Kuchen organisieren/backen

Sie werden (hoffentlich) viel Spaß an dem Projekt haben.

Sie verbringen die Projektwoche mit einer Tätigkeit, die die Lebensumstände für eine Reihe von Menschen in einem anderen Land wirklich verbessern wird.

Café Kathmandu – a project of the evening school at the State College of Koblenz (Koblenz Kolleg)

We have been making the necessary preparations for the presentation day of ‘Café Kathmandu’ ( 07.24.2014) to ensure the enjoyment of our students, guests and teachers.

At the same time we want to inform about the work and projects at Koblenz-Kolleg in support of the two schools in Nepal. For example our Christmas raffle this year provided 375.00 Euros for our two partner schools. This was used so that important teaching materials could be purchased in the Bhanodaya school. In the Jaleshwary Secondary School we have helped families who had difficulty paying for their children’s school uniforms and so on.

The profits that will make our Café Kathmandu will hopefully make, will go supporting the students of the Secondary School Jaleshwary or Bhanodaya Primary School.

Activities during the project:

• Planning how exactly Café Kathmandu is to be organised
• Preparation of the information about the schools and the general situation in Nepal (exhibition, presentation …)
• Thinking about and organisation of any other sources of income (games, sales, etc.)
• Contacting the responsible project staff in Nepal
• Last but not least: organising / baking coffee and cake

You will (hopefully) have a lot of fun with this project.

A week spent on this project will truly improve the living conditions for a number of people in another country.
