There hasn’t been a post for a while now, due to illness. However, now we are back and with some good news too! We have officially been granted the status of a non-profit making organization by the German Department of Finance. This means Children write for Children e.V.  can now accept donations and issue receipts for tax purposes.

The preparations for the visit to Kathmandu in April are in full swing. I am very much looking forward to seing all my friends again who welcomed me so warmly last time I went to Nepal. During this visit I hope to establish further contacts and work out formal procedures on how to proceed with the stories written by the children. This should make our work easier and faster in future. We have already prepared ten stories and equipped them with tasks. Anybody interested can contact us via a comment here on this site or also via facebook. We will be happy to send a sample of our work.

We have been busy and finished editing all the kid’s stories we have recieved so far from the Jaleshwary school in Nepal. The tales have also been equipped with tasks that can be used by English teachers and learners. Now we need new stories so that we can finish the book. Come on kids!

Im April fliege ich wieder nach Nepal – die Reisekosten zahle ich selbstverständlich privat aus eigener Tasche. Ich freue mich auf die Arbeit mit den Kindern und Lehrern, auf die Gespräche mit den für die Schulen Verantwortlichen und natürlich auch darauf, liebe Freunde und Bekannte wiederzusehen.

You might have already read some of the beautiful stories the children from Jaleshwary and Bhonodya school have written. Now a selection of them can be used as English learning material. Now we have been succesful in our attempts to become a non-profit making NGO (Ger: gemeinnütziger Verein), we are looking forward to the next stage of our project. The children will continue to write their stories and we teachers will design tasks for these tales that can then be used in English lessons. Soon you will be able to check out samples here!

Today there was the constitutional meeting of the association Children write for Children e.V. . We would like to thank all our supporters and are looking forward to working together.

Während die Schülerinnen und Schüler weiterhin an ihren Erzählungen arbeiten, gibt es jetzt bereits Kurzgeschichten auf deutsch zu kaufen. Das kleine Buch fällt thematisch unter die Kategorie “Frauenliteratur” und erscheint im Selbstverlag zum Preis von 5,99 Euro.

Nach Abzug der Materialkosten von 2,30 Euro, geht der Rest direkt an unsere Partnerschulen, die Bhonodaya Primary School in Lalitpur und die Shree Jaleshwary Proposed Secondary School in Dhading.
